Minister of Local Development Discusses Social Housing Projects with SHMFF CEO

Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, met today (Monday) with Mai Abdel Hamid, CEO of the Social Housing and Mortgage Finance Fund (SHMFF), at the ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital. The meeting was also attended by Eng. Alaa Abdel Fattah, Assistant Minister for Planning and Urban Development.

Focus on Social Housing and Land Allocation

The meeting reviewed ongoing SHMFF projects across various governorates and discussed securing land in collaboration with local governments to facilitate new housing developments. This aligns with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the mandates of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly to expand affordable housing initiatives.

Minister Manal Awad emphasized the significance of SHMFF’s role in providing affordable housing for young people and low-income citizens. She highlighted that these efforts contribute to presidential housing initiatives aimed at enhancing social justice.

Strengthening Cooperation for Housing Development

SHMFF CEO Mai Abdel Hamid reaffirmed the fund’s commitment to close collaboration with the ministry and governorates. She stressed the importance of integrated efforts to ensure the timely completion of affordable housing projects, meeting the needs of low-income families across Egypt.
