Ministry of Housing Opens Land Status Regularization for Previously Transferred Properties; Offers 70% Penalty Waivers

The Ministry of Housing, represented by the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA), has announced a two-month period for individuals and entities to regularize land ownership status for properties previously acquired from former administrative bodies. This initiative, beginning today and running until January 10, 2025, applies to land within the jurisdiction of Presidential Decree No. 262 (2018) and aligns with Cabinet Decision No. 2422 (2019) to benefit public and citizen interests.

Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbini, stated that December 31, 2024, will be the deadline for taking advantage of a 70% waiver on late penalties when settling all outstanding dues. The financial relief includes residential, administrative, professional, commercial, and villa units under the Housing Finance Fund.

Engineer Hesham Darwish, Advisor to the Ministry and Chairman of the Housing Finance Fund, noted that the relief extends to units involved in ongoing or appealed legal cases, provided all due amounts, legal fees, and other costs are fully settled. This measure supports citizens in securing adequate housing or sustaining commercial activities, fostering greater investment in line with President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi’s directives to ease burdens on citizens.
