Eng. Nafisa Hashim, Supervisor of the Housing and Utilities Sector at the Ministry of Housing, alongside Eng. Mostafa El Naggar, Undersecretary of the Ministry and Head of the Housing and Utilities Sector, organized a workshop at the Ministry of Housing headquarters in the New Administrative Capital. The workshop was aimed at specialists handling building violation reconciliation across 18 city authorities under the New Urban Communities Authority. The session focused on the application of Law No. 187 of 2023 and its executive regulations issued by Prime Minister’s Decree No. 1121 of 2024 concerning reconciliation of certain building violations.

The workshop was attended by Eng. Manal El Marshedi, Assistant Vice President of the New Urban Communities Authority for Planning and Projects, and Eng. Rania Mounir, Head of the Central Administration for Housing Affairs. Eng. Hashim highlighted the importance of following up on the implementation of the reconciliation law, as per directives from Eng. Sherif El Sherbini, Minister of Housing. This law is considered a significant issue with high political interest, and efforts are being made to overcome any obstacles and expedite the process.

During the workshop, participants had the opportunity to raise questions and receive clarifications on legal interpretations established by the committee formed under Ministerial Decree No. 364 of 2024. Emphasis was placed on simplifying the procedures for receiving reconciliation requests from citizens and ensuring that any inquiries be directed to the committee.

Eng. Hashim stressed the critical role of city officials in coordinating and actively participating with all stakeholders involved in the application of the reconciliation law. She urged them to facilitate the process for citizens and address any issues that arise, while maintaining communication with the committee established by Ministerial Decree No. 364 of 2024. This committee, overseen by the Minister and chaired by the Head of the Housing Sector, includes experts from the Ministry and relevant agencies to address queries from administrative bodies and technical committees.

Throughout the workshop, Eng. Hashim and Eng. El Naggar reviewed the provisions of the reconciliation law and its executive regulations, addressing questions and clarifying procedures for implementing the law and regularizing building violations. They reaffirmed the commitment to easing procedures for citizens and encouraged reliance on the designated committee for further inquiries.
