The Housing and Utilities Sector at the Ministry of Housing organized a comprehensive workshop titled “Maximizing and Strengthening the Technical Role of Housing and Utilities Directorates in the Governorates” at the ministry’s headquarters. The event was attended by senior officials from the Housing and Utilities Sector, the Construction and Contracting Sector, and the Central Administration for Human Resources.

The workshop was held in line with directives from Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Eng. Randa El-Menshawy, emphasizing the importance of continuous coordination and unified efforts between the ministry’s headquarters and the Housing and Utilities Directorates across all governorates.

The workshop was chaired by Eng. Mostafa El-Naggar, First Undersecretary of the Ministry and Head of the Housing and Utilities Sector, alongside Eng. Amr Abdel Hady, First Undersecretary of the Ministry and Head of the Construction and Contracting Sector. Discussions focused on improving technical and administrative performance, building human capacities, and enhancing the efficiency of the ministry’s workforce.

Eng. Mostafa El-Naggar stated that the workshop reflects the Housing and Utilities Sector’s commitment, as the ministry’s technical and regulatory arm, to strengthening institutional integration with the Housing Directorates and providing them with comprehensive technical support.

He highlighted the sector’s central role in unifying technical approaches, monitoring the implementation of national projects, and ensuring the effective enforcement of urban planning legislation, in line with the ministry’s broader institutional development strategy.

The workshop also reviewed the ministry’s latest publications prepared in cooperation with local, regional, and international partners. Participants examined the implementation status of development projects managed by the Housing Directorates, with particular focus on the presidential “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative, as well as the availability of suitable land for construction within these projects.

In addition, the workshop discussed the practical application of housing, construction, and urban development laws, reviewed maintenance and cleanliness systems in housing projects, addressed challenges related to compensation and price differences, and explored mechanisms to improve human resource efficiency and strengthen institutional support.

At the conclusion of the workshop, sector heads presented certificates of appreciation to the participants, underscoring the importance of fostering a culture of continuous development and encouraging technical staff within the Housing Directorates to continue collaborative efforts. These efforts aim to better serve Egyptian citizens and support the state’s objectives in the housing, construction, and urban development sectors.
