Eng. Amr Khattab, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Housing, announced the conclusion of the period for purchasing application booklets for the “Housing for All Egyptians 5” initiative at the end of December. However, the ministry is still accepting initial deposit payments and document uploads on the initiative’s official website until January 15.
Speaking on the program “The 6 O’clock Hour” broadcast on Al-Hayat channel, Khattab highlighted that the initiative offers both immediately deliverable housing units and others available within three years of booking. These units are spread across 20 governorates, ranging from Marsa Matruh and Alamein to Minya and the Delta provinces.
The initiative includes 78,000 fully finished housing units, distributed across cities nationwide. The units vary in size, ranging between 75 and 90 square meters. Ready-for-delivery units are available for middle-income families in new cities, while others will be ready within 36 months of reservation.
Khattab revealed that approximately 755,000 application booklets were sold, with over 450,000 applicants having already paid the initial reservation deposit.
Priority for allocation, as outlined by the Social Housing Law, will be given to married applicants with dependents, starting with the eldest, followed by younger married applicants with dependents, and finally single applicants. He emphasized that reservations are not based on a first-come, first-served basis, ensuring fairness in the process.
This initiative reflects the ministry’s ongoing efforts to provide affordable housing solutions and accommodate diverse income groups across Egypt.
