Engineer Nader Zafar, Head of the 6th of October City Development Authority, assigned Engineer Hossam Hosny, Deputy Head of the Authority for Development, to oversee intensive inspection campaigns under the supervision of Ali Nasir, General Supervisor of the Southern Sector.

The campaigns were carried out in the presence of district heads and in coordination with the Construction Police, led by Brigadier General Mohamed Bahgat. They targeted various neighborhoods across the Southern Sector to detect building violations and address them decisively in accordance with the law.

The Head of the Authority affirmed that the campaigns were launched in implementation of the directives of Engineer Randa El-Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, and Engineer Walid Abbas, Deputy Minister of Housing for New Urban Communities, to continue field campaigns aimed at combating building violations and encroachments, enforcing urban discipline, and preserving the architectural character of Egypt’s new cities.

Removal of Unauthorized Elevator and Illegal Building Expansions in 6th of October City

The head of the authority explained that the campaigns resulted in several enforcement actions, including the issuance of urgent warnings to occupants of violating residential units in the Tenth District, granting them a limited period to remove the violations and restore the properties to their original condition before legal action is taken and demolition is carried out by the city authority.

He added that an illegal construction violation was removed at Plot No. (1156) in the First District, where an unauthorized electric elevator had been installed within the side setback area without obtaining the required permits. The elevator lifting equipment was confiscated, and legal procedures were initiated.

He also noted that an immediate demolition was carried out against an ongoing construction violation at Plot No. (10/7) in the Seventh Neighborhood of the Second District, involving an illegal increase in the permitted building ratio for rooftop rooms in violation of approved regulations.

Additionally, storage and preparation works are intended to facilitate an unauthorized expansion of rooftop rooms at Plot No. (382) in the Second Neighborhood of the Fourth District were halted, and the necessary legal measures were taken.

Public Awareness and Guidance Campaigns

The Head of the Authority emphasized that, alongside the enforcement campaigns, inspection teams conducted on-site awareness tours to educate residents about approved building regulations and stress the importance of obtaining the necessary permits before undertaking any construction work.

Citizens were also informed about the legal penalties associated with violations in order to protect their rights and prevent them from facing legal action or demolition. Engineer Nader Zafar concluded by stating that the 6th of October City Development Authority will continue its daily inspection campaigns across all sectors while maintaining public awareness efforts.

He stressed that the authority will show zero tolerance toward any violations and will continue to enforce the law firmly to preserve the city’s urban appearance and ensure orderly development.
