Dr. Waleed Abbas, the Senior Vice President of the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA), announced that the authority has successfully allocated over 300,000 plots of land to individuals. These plots range from 209 to 1,200 square meters and are spread across several new cities. The allocations include plots for social housing, middle-income housing, premium housing, and land designated for Egyptians living abroad.
He added that the plots can accommodate the construction of more than 2 million housing units of various designs. Dr. Abbas highlighted that at the beginning of 2023, the authority introduced a new system for offering individual plots of land. This system makes plots available year-round through the “Maskan” application. Under this system, plots are listed on the authority’s official website for 60 days, after which the submitted applications are reviewed within 30 days. Once the review process is completed, a public lottery is held to finalize the allocation of the plots.
