The Sohag New City Authority has declared the activation of maximum readiness across all service departments and essential utilities within the city as part of extensive preparations for the upcoming Eid al-Adha holiday.
This move is implemented in accordance with the directives of Engineer Randa El Minshawy and Dr. Walid Abbas regarding strengthening preparedness in new urban cities during the holiday season.
Water and Wastewater Emergency Measures in Sohag New City During Eid
Engineer Ayman Rashad confirmed that the readiness status of drinking water and wastewater treatment plants has been inspected and verified, ensuring continuous 24-hour operation throughout the Eid holiday period.
He added that emergency status has been elevated across the operation, maintenance, and sanitation sectors to guarantee a swift response to any technical issues or citizen complaints that may arise.
He further noted that emergency response teams, operation rooms, and crisis management units have been fully prepared to operate around the clock, in close coordination with the Utilities Sector of the New Urban Communities Authority, to ensure uninterrupted essential services and to deliver the highest possible level of service to residents.
Preparing Public Parks to Receive Citizens During Eid
The head of the authority emphasized the intensification of cleaning activities and waste removal from streets, squares, main roads, and green spaces on a continuous, 24-hour basis to preserve the city’s civilized and aesthetic appearance, stressing the importance of ongoing field supervision of all works.
In the same context, Engineer Ayman Rashad instructed the Agriculture Department to enhance landscaping, irrigation, and cleaning operations in parks and green areas in preparation for receiving residents and visitors during the Eid holiday. He also directed the suspension of irrigation activities on the night of Eid al-Adha to facilitate public use of these spaces.
Intensive Campaigns to Prevent Building Violations
The head of the authority stated that strict directives have been issued to the Crisis and Emergency Room to carry out continuous patrols across all city districts to monitor any violations and address them immediately.
He also stressed the importance of intensifying inspection campaigns to prevent any attempts at illegal construction or encroachments during the holiday period, while taking firm legal action against violators.
