The Ministry of Social Housing is set to offer a new batch of Social Housing Apartments specifically for pensioners, widows, and divorcees, among other low and middle-income groups. The next offering is expected to include approximately 70,000 fully-finished housing units, with reservations starting in November 2024.

To qualify for a Social Housing unit as a pensioner:
- The minimum eligible pension must be EGP 3,000.
- The applicant’s age should align with the official retirement age according to the Social Insurance Law.
- For non-pensioners, the maximum age at the time of application is 60 years.
Apartment Sizes and Layouts
The offered apartments range between 75 and 90 square meters, featuring three bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a living room.
Reservation Deposit and Payment Plan
The reservation deposit varies depending on the price of the apartment. Past offerings have seen deposits start at EGP 25,000 and go up to EGP 40,000 for some units. The remaining balance can be paid in monthly installments over up to 30 years.
These units provide an opportunity for Egypt’s retirees and other vulnerable groups to secure affordable and decent housing.
