Required Documents to Obtain a Unit from the Alternative Housing Program for Old Rent Tenants

The Ministry of Housing is preparing to launch the electronic platform dedicated to tenants under the old rent system, with the purpose of receiving applications from those wishing to obtain alternative residential units. Below is the list of required documents for application:

  • An application submitted by the original tenant or the person to whom the lease contract has been extended, according to the designated form prepared for this purpose.

  • A copy of the original lease contract, along with documents proving the continuation of the lease relationship for those to whom the contract has been extended.

  • An official declaration by which the tenant commits to vacate and hand over the rented property upon receiving the alternative unit.

  • A copy of the national ID card of the original tenant or the person to whom the lease contract has been extended, including both husband and wife.

  • Copies of birth certificates of minor children or national ID cards for adult children.

  • Documents proving marital status, as follows:

    • In case of marriage: Marriage certificate.

    • In case of divorce: Divorce certificate and custody decree if the divorced woman is the custodian.

    • In case of death: Death certificate of the spouse along with inheritance documents.

  • For persons with disabilities: A qualification certificate or a government services card issued by the Ministry of Social Solidarity indicating the nature of the disability, or a certificate from the competent medical committee.

Required Documents to Obtain a Unit from the Alternative Housing Program for Old Rent Tenants

In the case of non-residential units, the following documents must be submitted:

  • Proof of ongoing practice of the activity, such as a copy of the tax card, an official extract from the commercial register, or a license to practice the activity, if available.

The essential documents for proving family income include:

  • For employees in government agencies and the public business sector: A certified certificate from the employer including basic data and stating the net annual or monthly income.

  • For employees in the private sector: A notarized certificate containing basic data and the net annual or monthly income, in addition to the commercial register number and tax card of the employer.

  • For freelancers, traders, and craftsmen:

    • A document confirming registration with the Tax Authority.

    • A certificate from a certified accountant showing the net annual or monthly income and specifying the type of profession.

    • A copy of the commercial register or tax card.

  • For widows, divorced women, and pensioners:

    • A certified printout of pension data from the Social Insurance Authority.

    • A copy of the alimony document received by the divorced woman.
