Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly held a meeting today to discuss the development status of the Imbaba Airport land in northern Giza. The session was attended by key officials, including Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities; Engineer Adel El-Naggar, Governor of Giza; Engineer Khaled Seddik, Chairman of the Urban Development Fund; and other senior representatives from the involved entities.
At the meeting’s outset, the Prime Minister emphasized the significance of the Imbaba Airport development project, describing it as a vital initiative to enhance services in the area. He highlighted that the project had previously delivered a large number of residential units, some of which were used as alternative housing for residents of Warraq Island and other areas. Dr. Madbouly stressed the importance of optimizing the remaining residential units and improving the functionality and aesthetics of the park within the site, urging a high-standard restoration of its original appeal.

Minister Sherif El-Sherbiny presented a comprehensive report on the development efforts at Imbaba Airport land, which encompass several key components:
- Residential Area:
- Includes 3,100 housing units across 158 buildings.
- Focused on the allocation and handover of units to applicants through the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) and the Warraq Development Authority.
- Incorporates 222 commercial shops within the residential zone.
- Imbaba Airport Park:
- Spans 38 feddans, serving as a green space for residents.
- Vacant Land:
- Covers an additional 48 feddans.
The minister also outlined proposals for investment opportunities in the area. The first investment plot, covering 20 feddans, is being offered for mixed-use purposes, including commercial, administrative, residential, hospitality, and entertainment projects. A second plot of 28 feddans will follow, with similar diverse uses. Additionally, proposals are under consideration for the “Giza Park” project, aiming to transform it into a recreational facility that will benefit the entire region.
Local Government and Urban Development Efforts
Engineer Adel El-Naggar, Governor of Giza, provided suggestions for maximizing the efficiency of the Imbaba Airport site, including using the available housing units as alternative accommodations for residents from unsafe areas targeted for redevelopment.
Engineer Khaled Seddik, Chairman of the Urban Development Fund, elaborated on plans to revitalize other regions within the northern Giza district. These efforts are part of broader initiatives to upgrade unplanned and unsafe areas, reflecting the state’s commitment to improving living conditions and promoting sustainable urban development.
