Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly held a meeting today to follow up on the latest developments in the implementation and development of Ras El Hekma City, located on the North Coast in Matrouh Governorate. The meeting was attended by Lieutenant General Kamel El-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Major General Khaled Shuaib, Governor of Matrouh, Dr. Islam Ragab, Deputy Governor of Matrouh, along with several officials from various ministries and relevant authorities.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of the project, highlighting the Egyptian government’s commitment to its success due to its vital role in attracting investments, boosting tourism, and creating job opportunities, which collectively contribute to adding value to the Egyptian economy.
For his part, Cabinet Spokesperson Counselor Mohamed El-Homsany stated that the meeting aimed to review and monitor the progress of several project-related files. Discussions covered compensation and demolition procedures in the Ras El Hekma area and the work progress in the investment zone, including the construction of the hotel building and the company’s administrative area.
The Cabinet Spokesperson further explained that the meeting included a review of the implementation status of the “Shams El Hekma” area, which serves as an alternative housing site for families. The discussions focused on implementing utility networks, including water and sanitation services, and constructing primary and secondary road networks. It was confirmed that the implementation rate has reached very advanced stages.
Counselor Mohamed El-Homsany also pointed out that, as part of the follow-up on the implementation progress of “Shams El Hekma,” the meeting addressed the ongoing construction of an experimental school that will serve the area’s families. Additionally, updates were provided on the infrastructure development project for the southern alternative area for local tribes, along with other services being provided.
Regarding the resettlement process for the first phase within the “Shams El Hekma” area, El-Homsany stated that the meeting also discussed the status of land legalization in the region and the steps taken to facilitate this process. This includes opening applications for eligible individuals to legalize their lands and obtain building permits.
