Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, prime minister, began a field tour of Gharbia Governorate to inaugurate and inspect a number of service and development projects as part of monitoring the implementation of projects under the presidential “Hayah Karima” (Decent Life) initiative and assessing the readiness of ongoing projects to serve citizens in the targeted villages.
The tour comes as part of the government’s efforts to monitor the implementation status of projects across various governorates and ensure that completed projects enter service, supporting the initiative’s objectives of improving living standards and developing basic services in Egypt’s rural areas.
Various Projects
The Prime Minister’s tour includes several sectors, including healthcare, through inspections of healthcare facilities and family medicine centers in the targeted villages, as well as monitoring drinking water and wastewater treatment plants. The tour also includes the inauguration of the regional branch of the Consumer Protection Agency, in addition to several parks and service projects.
The Prime Minister is accompanied during the tour by a number of ministers and officials, including Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population; Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development and Environment; Alaa El-Din Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation; and Eng. Randa El-Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, along with the Governor of Gharbia and several executive officials.
Initiative Objectives
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly said the tour comes following an inspection visit to service and development projects in Matrouh Governorate, with the aim of monitoring the latest developments in projects implemented under the presidential “Hayah Karima” initiative.
The Prime Minister explained that the initiative aims to improve the level of services provided to more than 60 million citizens in the targeted villages, noting that the results of the first phase have already become evident through improved service levels, while work continues to complete the second phase and accelerate the operation of completed projects.
Supporting Gharbia
The prime minister noted that Gharbia Governorate enjoys a competitive advantage as one of Egypt’s industrial strongholds, in addition to being an agricultural governorate. He affirmed the government’s commitment to supporting projects being implemented in the governorate and addressing the challenges they face to ensure their completion according to the specified timelines.
Zefta Projects
The governor of Gharbia explained that the presidential initiative’s projects in Zefta Center cover 10 local administrative units comprising 55 villages and 92 hamlets and satellite communities, serving approximately 560,000 residents.
He added that the projects include the construction of government and agricultural service complexes, healthcare facilities, youth centers, ambulance stations, social units, and family medicine centers, in addition to road, bridge, irrigation, and utility projects.
The governor confirmed that 221 projects have been implemented in Zefta Center under the supervision of the Central Agency for Reconstruction, through the Central Coast Reconstruction Agency, as part of the plan to develop villages and improve the level of services provided to citizens.
