Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, prime minister, held a meeting at the government headquarters in New Alamein City to follow up on the executive position and latest developments of projects underway to develop the Northwestern Coast region in Matrouh Governorate.
The meeting was attended by Eng. Randa El-Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities; Major General Dr. Mohamed El-Zamlout, Governor of Matrouh; Dr. Walid Abbas, Deputy Minister of Housing for New Urban Communities; and Major General Nasser Fawzy, Director of the National Center for Planning State Land Uses.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister affirmed that the State places great importance on the development of the Northwestern Coast region and Matrouh Governorate, noting that the region represents one of the main pillars of the State’s comprehensive development vision, given its promising geographical, economic, and tourism potential, which contributes to attracting local and foreign investments and enhancing the national economy’s ability to achieve sustainable development.

This, in turn, positively impacts the quality of services provided to citizens and creates new job opportunities. During the meeting, Eng. Randa El-Menshawy, minister of housing, utilities, and urban communities, presented the executive position of projects underway in the Northwestern Coast region in Matrouh Governorate, noting that the ministry is working to accelerate the pace of work across all sites to ensure compliance with the specified implementation timelines.
She affirmed that these projects are primarily focused on upgrading infrastructure and vital utilities and developing fourth-generation cities in the region, contributing to a comprehensive urban and civilizational transformation, meeting the aspirations of citizens and investors, and implementing the presidential directives to drive sustainable development in this promising strategic corridor.
For his part, Major General Mohamed El-Zamlout, Governor of Matrouh, reviewed the efforts of the governorate’s executive agencies, in coordination with the relevant ministries and authorities, to support ongoing service and development projects. He noted that Matrouh Governorate is witnessing an unprecedented boom and growing investment interest in light of its distinguished geographical location and diverse natural potential.
The Governor of Matrouh affirmed that local authorities are currently working to facilitate all procedures for investors, alongside upgrading internal road networks and improving environmental services and vital utilities across the governorate’s various centers and cities. This aims to maximize the benefits of the development momentum witnessed along the Northwestern Coast, ensure stability for citizens, and provide new job opportunities for the governorate’s residents.
The meeting also discussed the executive position of the land regularization process for lands added to a number of new cities in the Northwestern Coast region, as well as the status of utility and infrastructure works associated with the lands subject to regularization. The meeting also reviewed the relevant files and joint efforts with the National Center for Planning State Land Uses.
