Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, prime minister, held a meeting on Wednesday to follow up on the latest developments in the development project for the Alamein El Roum area on the North Coast.
The meeting was attended by Randa El-Menshawy, minister of housing, utilities, and urban communities; Sheikh Hamad bin Talal Al Thani, CEO of Qatari Diar; Dr. Walid Abbas, deputy minister of housing for new urban communities; Khaled Seddiq, assistant minister of housing; Mostafa Abdel Wahab, CEO of the General Authority for Tourism Development; and officials from Qatari Diar.
The Prime Minister stressed the importance of this project, which represents a major investment partnership between Egypt and Qatari Diar, aimed at establishing a new development hub along the North Coast featuring a variety of projects. This comes as part of the state’s plans to make optimal use of coastal land and create well-planned, modern urban and tourism communities that operate year-round.
The meeting reviewed the proposed plans for the project and the implementation status of various works, as well as the project’s educational, healthcare, residential, hotel, and commercial components, along with its entertainment facilities and various services.
For his part, Hamad bin Talal Al Thani praised the development boom taking place on Egypt’s North Coast, stressing that the company aims to implement the project to the highest standards through partnerships with major international companies.
He noted that the project is based on establishing a world-class integrated urban city that operates throughout the year rather than a tourism resort, in line with the Egyptian state’s plans to achieve comprehensive development in this promising area.
