The Egyptian Presidency announced that during his meeting with Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, in Brussels, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi emphasized the urgent need to stabilize the ceasefire in Gaza and ensure the sufficient delivery of humanitarian aid.
According to the presidency, the meeting addressed ways to strengthen cooperation between Egypt and the European Union and accelerate the implementation of their strategic partnership, with a focus on common regional and international issues.
The discussions also covered the issue of illegal migration, where attendees praised Egypt’s successful efforts in halting the departure of migrant boats from its coasts since September 2021.
The presidency added that Metsola reaffirmed the European Union’s support for the two-state solution as a means to end the Arab-Israeli conflict, commending Egypt’s pivotal role in reaching an agreement to end the war in Gaza.
