President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Eng. Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Eng. Karim Badawi, and Col. Dr. Bahaa El-Ghannam, Executive Director of the Egypt Future Sustainable Development Authority.
During the meeting, Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy explained that the President reviewed the progress of joint efforts between the Ministries of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Resources, as well as the Egypt Future Authority. The follow-up particularly focused on ensuring the provision of electrical power for modern agricultural projects supervised by the authority, most notably the New Delta Project.
The discussions also covered updates regarding the establishment of electricity transformer stations in agricultural reclamation areas, as part of the state’s efforts to strengthen food security. Coordination between the two ministries to secure the necessary fuel for operating power generation plants was also reviewed.

In this context, the President directed the acceleration of completing the additional electrical power system for the New Delta Project, in addition to supporting the agricultural sector in general. This comes within the framework of guaranteeing the availability of Egypt’s strategic crops in light of regional and international challenges. The President also stressed the importance of regular reviews of the national energy security plan.
Furthermore, Ambassador El-Shenawy noted that the President reviewed the latest developments in the implementation of the national energy strategy up to 2040, along with the renewable energy strategy, as well as the status of clean energy projects. The meeting emphasized enhancing reliance on clean energy sources in the national energy mix while reducing the use of fossil fuels, in alignment with national priorities for energy sector development.
The discussions also highlighted the importance of improving the quality of electricity supply and reducing losses in distribution networks to achieve sustainability and stability. In this regard, the President underscored the necessity of continuing the effective implementation of the comprehensive plan aimed at achieving energy security and expanding dependence on renewable and clean energy sources.
On another note, the President stressed the importance of securing the necessary supplies of petroleum products to ensure the uninterrupted operation of power generation stations. He also emphasized increasing the share of renewable energy within the national energy mix, calling for intensified efforts to attract more investments in this vital sector. The President further instructed the acceleration of work on current renewable energy projects to ensure energy diversification and to strengthen the localization of industries linked to clean energy.
