President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi expressed Egypt’s appreciation for the close relations it enjoys with Russia, and for the development and positive interaction these relations have witnessed — reflected in the signing of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement between the two countries.
This came during his meeting on Monday with Sergey Shoigu, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation. The meeting was attended by Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Egyptians Abroad; Major General Hassan Rashad, Head of the General Intelligence Service; and Fayza Aboulnaga, Security Advisor to the President of the Republic.

On the Russian side, attendees included Alexander Venediktov, Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation; Georgiy Borisenko, Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Cairo; Sergey Mikheev, Deputy Director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service; Andrei Yevseyev, an official at the Russian Security Council; and Maria Panyeva from the Russian Presidential Foreign Policy Directorate.
The official spokesperson for the Presidency stated that President El-Sisi opened the meeting by extending his greetings to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
