Engineer Mohamed Abdel Maqsoud, Head of the New October City Development Authority, recently reviewed the progress of “Housing for All Egyptians” projects during a visit by engineers Mostafa Abdel Latif and Ahmed Ismail from the Technical Support Unit of the Ministry of Housing. The visit was supervised by Dr. Eng. Abdel Khalek Ibrahim, Assistant Minister for Technical Affairs.
Abdel Maqsoud highlighted the ongoing construction of approximately 90,000 housing units in the West Airport area, emphasizing the authority’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and technical excellence.
Sixth and Fifth Phase Updates
Engineer Mahmoud Murad, Deputy Head of the Authority, along with the Technical Support Unit, inspected the sixth phase of low-income housing projects. Their review included:
- Facade Design: Selection of colors and designs.
- Finishing Progress: Monitoring both internal and external finishing works.
Additionally, the fifth phase of the project incorporates green spaces, jogging and cycling tracks, seating areas, and pergolas to create a well-rounded living environment.
Industrial Zone Development
The delegation also reviewed progress in equipping the new industrial zone, covering 11,000 feddans, which has attracted significant investor interest. So far, around 7,000 feddans have been allocated, generating an investment return of EGP 20 billion.
Commitment to Timelines and Quality
Murad urged contractors to adhere to established timelines and engineering specifications while addressing any obstacles hindering progress. The aim is to ensure timely and quality delivery of the projects.
Ministry Oversight
These inspections align with directives from Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, to accelerate work rates and closely monitor national projects. These efforts aim to fulfill the state’s vision of providing suitable housing for all citizens, ensuring a dignified and quality life for residents
