Ongoing Development and Safety Measures at New Minya City’s Tourism Walkway

Engineer Ahmed Mostafa Mohamed, Head of the New Minya City Authority, continues his field visits to monitor progress on the tourism walkway in the fifth district of the city. Accompanied by officials from the authority, this inspection is part of the directives set by Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities.

During his visit, the Head of New Minya City met with the investor overseeing the development of the area to assess the status of utilities and the power and gas lines passing through the region. He emphasized the importance of raising utility lines using precise surveying equipment, carried out by the investor in collaboration with the relevant departments. The investor is also expected to submit detailed drawings of the area post-development, ensuring that existing utilities are preserved.

In addition, Engineer Mostafa Mohamed recommended the installation of a dense tree fence of an appropriate height along the border between the walkway and the desert highway. This measure aims to protect families and children from accidentally entering the highway and encountering potential danger. He further stressed the need to safeguard all existing utilities, whether underground or above-ground, during the planning and execution of development work. He urged the contractor to promptly prepare and submit the required plans and begin implementation as soon as possible.

Engineer Mostafa Mohamed also conducted a tour of the distinguished tourist district and the “Beit Al-Watan” area, where he oversaw the work on water, sewage, electricity, and other utilities, particularly those in conflict with roadworks. He instructed project managers and all contracting companies to intensify their efforts to accelerate progress.

Additionally, he issued instructions to the operation and maintenance company responsible for the networks to immediately begin cleaning the main sewage manholes along the pumping line leading to Sewage Station 3 and to raise the level of manholes with low elevation.

He also called on the road construction company to urgently coordinate with all involved parties to complete various tasks swiftly.
