Officials from the Housing Sector Visit Port Said Governorate

A delegation from the Housing and Utilities Sector at the Ministry of Housing, led by Engineer Mostafa El-Naggar, Head of the Housing Sector, and under the supervision of Engineer Nefisa Mahmoud Hashem, Advisor to the Minister and Supervisor of the Sector, visited Port Said Governorate to provide technical support and monitor ongoing projects.

This visit comes in line with the directives of Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, who emphasizes the importance of strengthening the ministry’s projects and initiatives across all governorates of Egypt, in accordance with the state’s strategic vision.

In continuation of the Housing and Utilities Sector’s mission, the visit aimed to support the local Housing Directorates in various governorates and follow up on the supervision of national projects — whether included in the governorates’ investment plans or those affiliated with other governmental bodies.

The ministry’s team held a meeting with the Director of the Housing Directorate in Port Said to discuss technical matters related to the directorate, in addition to reviewing the progress of investment plan projects and other projects supervised by the directorate.

The visit also included field inspections of several key projects in the governorate under the directorate’s supervision. Among these were:

  • Construction of 120 social housing buildings in the Mohamed Mehran area in the South District.

  • Establishment of the Small Industries Complex in the South Raswa area in the El-Dawahy District.

  • Construction of 66 investment housing buildings within the Social Housing Project east of the Faculty of Physical Education in Port Fouad.

  • Implementation of 53 investment housing buildings as part of the 241-building social housing project in the same area.

The tour also included inspecting the general site and road works (interlock paving) for the second phase of the 241-building investment project in Port Fouad, the construction of the administrative building for the Port Said Sports Club in the East District, and the development of the “Port Said Outlet” for used clothing in the East District.

The delegation concluded its visit by inspecting the Social Housing Project at two key sites — El-Fayrouz District (61 residential buildings) and El-Karasa El-Zarqa (39 residential buildings) — to assess the quality of maintenance and cleanliness works. During the tour, directives were issued to the directorate and the implementing company to address observed remarks and coordinate with all relevant authorities to ensure improved performance and enhanced sustainability of these projects.
