Official Gazette Publishes Ministerial Decision on Amendments to Building Law Regulations

In issue No. 216, dated October 1, 2024, the Official Gazette published Ministerial Decision No. 943 of 2024, which outlines amendments to the executive regulations of the Building Law.

The modifications include the replacement of Articles (110 bis, 112 bis, and 117 bis), which were added to the executive regulations of the Building Law through Ministerial Decision No. 410 of 2021.

Minister of Housing, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, emphasized that these changes aim to simplify and streamline the procedures for obtaining building permits, encouraging citizens to obtain licenses for constructing safe and healthy buildings.

Additionally, the urban planning and building requirements issued in March 2021 have been canceled, reverting to the provisions of Building Law No. 119 of 2008 and its executive regulations. This step follows directives from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

The decision also mandates adherence to the height restrictions specified in the strategic and detailed plans. Buildings must comply with Egyptian codes, and commercial and administrative activities are now permitted on the ground and first floors of residential buildings located on roads wider than 10 meters.
