The Egyptian Official Gazette (Al-Waqa’i Al-Misriya) has published Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Decree No. 767 of 2026, concerning the removal of the property located at 21 Beni Suef Street, at the intersection with Ahmed Maher Street, registration No. 1090, from the register of buildings and structures of distinguished architectural style in Port Said Governorate.

The decision was issued after reviewing the Constitution; Law No. 144 of 2006 regulating the demolition of non-dilapidated buildings and structures and the preservation of architectural heritage, along with its executive regulations and amendments; Presidential Decrees No. 258 of 2024 and No. 75 of 2026 concerning the formation of the Cabinet; Prime Ministerial Decree No. 2276 of 2006 establishing the standards and specifications for buildings and structures of distinguished architectural character; Prime Ministerial Decree No. 2964 of 2009 regarding the Architectural Heritage Register of Cairo Governorate; and Prime Ministerial Decree No. 1096 of 2011 regarding the Architectural Heritage Register of Port Said Governorate.

The decision also reviewed Prime Ministerial Decree No. 243 of 2019, delegating the Minister of Housing the powers stipulated under Law No. 144 of 2006 concerning the registration, addition, and removal of properties pursuant to Article Two of the law.
It further considered Ministerial Decree No. 1204 of 2024, establishing a working group responsible for taking the necessary procedures regarding buildings and structures proposed for registration, addition, or removal from the register of buildings and structures of distinguished architectural style in the governorates in accordance with the law.
The decree also took into account correspondence from the former governor of Port Said, Letter No. 795 dated November 15, 2025, and Port Said Governorate Letter No. 1571 dated April 1, 2026, regarding the recommendation of the Permanent Committee for Surveying Buildings and Structures of Distinguished Architectural Style in the governorate.
Article One
The property located at 21 Beni Suef Street, at the intersection with Ahmed Maher Street, registration No. 1090, shall be removed from the register of buildings and structures of distinguished architectural style in Port Said Governorate.
Article Two
The property located at 4 Shafik Mansour Street, Zamalek, documentation No. 03180001371, in the West Cairo District, shall be added to the register of buildings and structures of distinguished architectural style in the Cairo Governorate.
Article Three
The property located at 36 Ibn Hussein Street, branching from Youssef El-Sebai Street, documentation No. 03300000213, in the Sayeda Zeinab District, shall be removed from the register of buildings and structures of distinguished architectural style in the Cairo Governorate.
Article Four
