No Reconciliation for Building Violations Outside the Urban Boundary

Dr. Mohamed El-Fayoumi, Chairman of the Housing Committee in the House of Representatives, announced that reconciliation will not be accepted for building violations that occurred after the issuance of Law No. 187 of 2023, which was enacted on December 17, 2023. This law defines the mechanisms for reconciliation both inside and outside the official urban boundary according to specific dates.

No Reconciliation for Building Violations Outside the Urban Boundary

During a phone-in with media host Sayed Ali on the “Hazrat Al-Muwatin” program on the Al-Hadath Al-Youm channel, El-Fayoumi confirmed that the statements made by Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, align with the provisions of the law issued on December 17, 2023.

El-Fayoumi added that reconciliation for building violations that occurred outside the official urban boundary has been halted for any violations committed after October 15, 2023 — the date when aerial imaging was completed.

He also pointed out that the issuance date of the law serves as the dividing line between violations that can be reconciled and those that will be rejected. He clarified that no reconciliation requests will be accepted for building violations that took place after December 17, 2023.
