The New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) continues implementing a comprehensive plan to finalize the status adjustment of added land in several new cities. The file is considered one of the largest urban development issues, as it is directly linked to citizens’ interests and the future of development in these cities.

This comes in implementation of the directives of Engineer Randa El Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, to accelerate procedures and achieve a qualitative leap in completion rates. Dr. Walid Abbas, deputy minister of housing for the New Urban Communities Authority, along with the authority’s work team, is leading efforts to monitor this file in coordination with the authority’s various sectors and the new city authorities.

The efforts include establishing executive mechanisms to ensure the swift processing of submitted applications while achieving integration between land legalization procedures and actual development on the ground.

The current efforts come within the framework of the state’s vision to finalize the added land files and integrate them into the official urban development system in a manner that safeguards citizens’ rights and ensures the establishment of well-planned urban communities equipped with essential services in accordance with the highest standards.

The action plan includes monitoring the implementation status of land status adjustment applications across several new cities and strengthening coordination among the real estate, legal, and technical sectors. These measures aim to remove any obstacles hindering the completion of procedures while adhering to the established timelines to finalize the largest possible number of cases.

The Authority considers the status adjustment of added land a top-priority file due to its scale and its impact on the future of tens of thousands of citizens. The objective extends beyond completing administrative procedures to transforming these areas into stable and integrated urban extensions.

At the same time, the Authority is accelerating the implementation of infrastructure projects in the areas undergoing status adjustment by completing road networks and major corridors, as well as drinking water, wastewater, and electricity networks. These efforts aim to ensure the readiness of these areas for integration into the urban fabric of the new cities.

This comes in line with the directives of Engineer Randa El Menshawy, Minister of Housing, to link the completion of legalization procedures with actual on-the-ground development, ensuring that citizens experience the tangible results of these measures through improved services and a higher quality of life within these areas.

The recent period has witnessed intensified field follow-up by the Authority’s leadership and the new city authorities, alongside the preparation of periodic reports on implementation progress and the status of submitted applications.

These measures are intended to ensure prompt decision-making and overcome obstacles, thereby supporting the state’s objectives of organizing urban development and expanding the establishment of well-planned new communities.

The status adjustment of added land represents a model of the state’s approach to addressing urban development challenges by balancing the protection of citizens’ rights with organized development, preventing the emergence of unplanned urban areas, and ultimately creating more sustainable and investment-friendly new cities.
