The New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) has announced the opening of the final candidacy process for membership in the Boards of Trustees of urban cities starting from 2026. Applications must be submitted to each city authority according to a specified form and in compliance with the announced conditions.
The decision aims to enhance community participation and improve the efficiency of managing the new cities, with members being selected based on criteria that ensure balanced representation reflecting the nature of society and reinforcing its developmental role.
The conditions include Egyptian nationality, permanent residence in the city for no less than 5 years proven by ID, a minimum age of 35 years, and holding a university degree. Current employees of the Ministry or its affiliated bodies are prohibited from running. Candidates must also have a clean record with no judicial convictions involving dishonor or breach of trust.

Completion of military service or an exemption is required. Former members are allowed to serve for a maximum of two consecutive terms. Representation is also mandatory for youth under 21, women, and people with special needs in the seats allocated for them.
Regulations require comprehensive representation across the city’s divisions to ensure fair participation in decision-making. For investors, nominations must come through their association, if present, or directly via city authorities in the absence of such associations, in accordance with Decision No. (1052).
The Authority confirmed that late or incomplete applications will be excluded. All documents must be submitted to the city authority for review and selection in a transparent process that guarantees equal opportunity.
