As part of implementing the directives of the political leadership and the Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities to speed up the execution of the “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative, Engineer Mohamed Abdel Maqsoud, Head of the New October City Authority, announced the raising of preparedness levels and the acceleration of work on the Green Housing Project (Sector C) located in the West Airport area.

Engineer Mohamed Abdel Maqsoud stated that the project, which comprises 14,376 residential units spread across 599 residential buildings, is currently witnessing significant progress in construction works.

He noted that contracting companies have been directed to increase the number of workers and equipment on-site and continue operations around the clock to meet the scheduled delivery timelines while ensuring implementation according to the highest international quality standards. Meanwhile, Engineer Rania Abdullah, Deputy Head of the Authority for Projects, carried out a comprehensive inspection tour to monitor the progress of implementation works on-site.

She emphasized that the Green Housing Project marks a major advancement in the concept of social housing by adopting environmental sustainability standards, including the use of energy-efficient construction materials and the expansion of green spaces, which helps lower maintenance costs and provides residents with a healthier living environment.

According to the executive report, the completion rate of residential building construction within the project has reached 57%. In parallel, utilities works, including water, sewage, irrigation, and road networks, are being implemented at an investment cost exceeding EGP 470 million.

Regarding services, the implementation of service buildings within the project is currently being tendered to ensure the availability of all essential services before residents receive their housing units.

Engineer Rania Abdullah also affirmed that the quality of final finishes remains a top priority, stressing that no compromises will be made in this regard. She added that periodic inspections are being conducted throughout all phases of construction to guarantee compliance with the required standards.

This effort comes as part of the city authority’s broader vision to transform New October City into a sustainable urban community that offers a high quality of life for its residents and supports the comprehensive development taking place across Egypt.
