Engineer Ashraf Fathy Mahmoud, Head of the New Damietta City Development Authority, conducted an extensive inspection tour to monitor the progress of the Diyarna Housing Project, located in the Tal El Deir area south of the First Neighborhood in District One.
The tour also included an inspection of the project’s attached commercial market to assess the current implementation status and address any obstacles facing the executing companies.
The visit comes in line with the directives of Engineer Randa El Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, emphasizing continuous on-site monitoring of the national housing project and the development of services in new cities.
During the tour, the authority head received a detailed briefing on the project’s master plan, which serves as the cornerstone of middle-income housing in the area. The project comprises 33 residential buildings, providing a total of 858 fully finished and fully serviced housing units.
Each building includes 26 residential units and consists of a ground floor and five repeated floors, in addition to a rooftop penthouse level, enhancing both the architectural appearance and efficient use of space.

The Authority Head praised the current pace of implementation, noting that the project’s execution rates are progressing well. The reinforced concrete structures and masonry works for all 33 residential buildings have reached approximately 57% completion. Interior finishing works are currently underway in several buildings, including plastering, internal installations, electrical systems, and plumbing.
During the visit, the Authority Head also inspected the surrounding area of the project’s commercial market, which consists of seven retail shops designated to serve future residents. Construction of the commercial complex has reached 20% completion.
He instructed the executing companies to accelerate implementation to ensure the commercial facilities are ready in parallel with the commencement of housing unit handovers, providing essential services for residents from the outset.
Engineer Ashraf Fathy Mahmoud stressed to the executing companies and the authority’s implementation sector that full compliance with the technical specifications and quality standards outlined in the project requirements is mandatory.
At the conclusion of the tour, the authority head affirmed that the city authority will not tolerate any compromise in the quality of the final finishes, emphasizing that the goal is to deliver a distinguished residential product worthy of Egyptian citizens.
He added that efforts are underway to increase the workforce on-site to complete the commercial market and all infrastructure works, ensuring the project becomes a fully integrated urban community.
The inspection tour was attended by the deputy heads of the city authority, officials from the relevant engineering and implementation departments, and representatives of the companies executing the project.
