Eng. Ahmed Rashad, Head of the New Cairo City Development Authority, emphasized the strengthening of field inspections across the city’s sectors, requiring violators to remove waste and taking legal action against violations.
The Head of the Authority pointed to the implementation of directives issued by Eng. Randa El-Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, and Dr. Eng. Walid Abbas, Deputy Minister of Housing for New Urban Communities, aimed at enhancing discipline, tightening field monitoring, and preserving public utilities and the urban appearance of new cities.
In this context, Eng. Ahmed Rashad El Sherif, Head of the New Cairo City Development Authority, announced the commencement of the activation of the security and control system across the city’s various sectors.
The Head of the Authority explained that the system is being activated in cooperation with Modon Misr Asset and Facilities Management Company, within the framework of the protocol signed between the Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities; the New Urban Communities Authority; the New Cairo City Development Authority; and the relevant entities.
He added that the system aims to regulate security, control, and monitoring operations across the city’s various sectors, detect violations, and address them in accordance with the laws and regulations in force.
In this regard, the New Cairo City Development Authority called on land plot owners, compound owners and managements, contractors, and excavation and implementation companies to fully comply with the regulations governing excavation works and to transport excavation and backfilling waste only to the official landfill approved by the city authority.
The authority stressed that dumping excavation and backfilling waste in streets, main roads, vacant land, or any other unauthorized locations is strictly prohibited. It confirmed that responsibility for monitoring and ensuring that excavation contractors transport waste to the approved site rests with the landowner or the entity contracting with the contractor.
Eng. Ahmed Rashad El Sherif confirmed that any violations will be detected and the necessary legal and administrative measures will be taken, including filing official violation reports and requiring the violator to remove the waste at their own expense, in addition to imposing the prescribed fines, according to the nature and severity of the violation.
The Head of the Authority noted that activating the security and control system comes within the New Cairo City Authority’s efforts to enhance discipline, protect public utilities, and preserve the city’s roads, main thoroughfares, and urban appearance, contributing to the provision of an organized and safe environment for residents and visitors.
