Engineer Nader Zaafer, Head of the 6th of October City Development Authority, stated that intensive campaigns are being carried out to remove encroachments and illegal occupations while preserving the urban appearance of new cities.
This comes in line with the directives of Engineer Randa El Menshawy, minister of housing, utilities, and urban communities, and the instructions of Dr. Walid Abbas, deputy minister of housing, utilities, and urban communities for new urban communities affairs.
Large-Scale Campaigns to Remove Illegal Occupations
Engineer Nader Zaafer explained that city authorities continue to implement daily inspection campaigns to combat illegal waste sorting sites and unlicensed activities as part of the authority’s plan to restore order and enforce the rule of law. In this context, Engineer Ahmed Ragab, Deputy Head of the Authority for the Northern and Western Sector, led a large-scale morning campaign for the second consecutive day.
The campaign targeted several key roads and vital areas, including Street 5, the 300 Area, Street 20, Street 15, the Gamal Abdel Nasser Axis, the Industrial Zone, and the Middle Ring Road. The objective was to inspect violation sites, identify illegal sorting hotspots, and take immediate legal action against offenders.
6th of October City Authority’s Plan to Combat Violations and Eliminate Illegal Sorting Sites
The campaign was conducted with the participation of Ashraf Abdel Sadek, District Head; Engineer Mahmoud El Gohary, Head of Occupancy Violations; and in coordination with the Authority’s Administrative Security Department.
The campaign resulted in the elimination of an illegal sorting site in the 300 Area and the confiscation of five sorting carts, one sorting tricycle, 15 steel drums, five plastic tanks, approximately one ton of scrap iron found in front of a factory, and a computerized weighing scale.
Inspection teams also surveyed the Industrial Zone, the 300 Area, and Streets 1 and 22, where several illegal activities were detected and removed. Zaafer emphasized that these campaigns are part of the 6th of October City Development Authority’s ongoing plan to combat illegal occupations and violations and eliminate illegal sorting sites.
These efforts contribute to preserving the industrial zone’s urban appearance, maintaining public order, and enforcing the law against all violators. He added that the campaigns will continue on a daily basis to ensure that violations do not recur.
