The Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities in Egypt released an informative video explaining the stages of drinking water purification. The video outlines the process starting from the intake of water, moving through various purification stages in treatment plants, and finally distributing the treated water through supply networks to homes and facilities. It also covers the collection and treatment of wastewater, while offering citizens practical tips for conserving and managing water consumption.
Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, the Minister of Housing, emphasized the importance of water conservation and maximizing the utility of every drop of water. He noted that the state is investing significantly in constructing water purification plants, lift stations, distribution networks, and wastewater treatment systems. El-Sherbiny called for national efforts to conserve water, particularly as the country’s growing population and urban expansion increase demand for drinking water. He also supported initiatives promoting water conservation, such as the national campaign Every Drop Counts, which seeks to instill a culture of water preservation among citizens.
Eng. Mamdouh Raslan, Chairman of the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater, affirmed the company’s commitment to raising awareness about the responsible use of water. He highlighted that the Every Drop Counts campaign aims to transform public behavior towards more sustainable water use.
