Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, met with Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, to review the implementation status of the presidential initiative “Decent Life” (Hayah Karima) and the progress of investment plan projects for urban development. The meeting covered updates on water, sanitation, construction, and real estate projects, with total investments for the current fiscal year estimated at around EGP 505 billion.
Dr. Al-Mashat emphasized that the government remains fully committed to implementing the “Decent Life” initiative in line with the President’s directives to enhance human capital and improve services across Egypt’s rural villages.

She highlighted that the first phase of the initiative included investments totaling EGP 350 billion, with 86% of the projects already completed. The minister also stressed the government’s focus on strengthening the private sector’s role through expanding public-private partnerships and increasing the efficiency of investment spending, as total investment expenditure has reached EGP 1.16 trillion.
Minister El-Sherbiny pointed out the significance of the “Decent Life” initiative as one of the most prominent national projects directly supervised by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, aiming to improve the quality of life for Egyptian citizens. He added that ongoing work continues to implement water, sanitation, and construction projects in cities and villages according to the specified timelines.
