Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, and Engineer Mohamed Shimi, Minister of Public Enterprise, held their second meeting this month on Wednesday evening to explore ways to enhance cooperation in developing and optimizing assets and lands owned by public sector companies. The meeting was attended by senior officials from both ministries and affiliated organizations.
During the meeting, the ministers reviewed the progress of the agreements reached in the previous session and discussed the advancements made by the experts from both sides on shared projects. They also explored mechanisms and opportunities for collaboration in developing strategic lands owned by companies under the Ministry of Public Enterprise. These lands, located in prime areas across various governorates, are part of the government’s broader strategy to maximize the utilization of state assets.
The ministers also addressed challenges faced by construction companies under the Holding Company for Construction and Development in executing certain projects. A joint committee of specialists from both ministries was established to examine the detailed status of these projects and take necessary measures to accelerate progress, particularly on projects related to the presidential initiative “Decent Life,” aimed at improving rural areas across Egypt.
Minister Sherif El-Sherbiny emphasized the Ministry of Housing’s commitment to fostering collaboration with various government entities to unify efforts toward the comprehensive development Egypt is witnessing. He reiterated the importance of regular follow-up and coordination between specialists from both ministries to ensure timely completion of joint initiatives, in line with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
Minister Mohamed Shimi echoed this sentiment, underscoring the Ministry of Public Enterprise’s dedication to strengthening partnerships with other ministries and government bodies. He highlighted that optimizing and developing state-owned assets is a top priority in the ministry’s strategy to reform and advance its affiliated companies. This, in turn, contributes to the establishment of urban and developmental projects across Egypt. Shimi praised the fruitful collaboration between the ministry’s companies and the New Urban Communities Authority.
