Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, emphasized the urgency of finalizing settlement files for building violations and land regularization during a meeting with general secretaries of governorates at the ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital. She stressed the necessity of facilitating procedures for citizens in collaboration with relevant authorities.

The minister highlighted that the ministry has implemented various facilitations for citizens in recent months and directed an increase in the number of specialized committees to expedite the review of applications. She also announced that the performance of general secretaries and executive leaders will be evaluated based on their progress in these files over the next six weeks.

Minister Awad underscored the importance of conducting regular visits to technological service centers in governorates to address citizen concerns, stating, “Go out, meet the people, understand their issues, and solve them, because we will be evaluating all executive leaders during this period.” She also announced unannounced inspections to monitor performance and ensure the best possible service for citizens.

Additionally, the minister stated that periodic reports on progress rates will be submitted to the President and the Prime Minister. Weekly meetings will be held via the National Emergency Network Control Centers to track updates. Furthermore, a new training program will be launched for approximately 2,000 trainees, including managers of technological service centers and officials handling settlement procedures across governorates.
