Minister of Housing Visits Arab Organization for Industrialization’s Motor Factory

Eng. Sherif Al-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, visited the headquarters of the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) at the Digital Manufacturing Center within its Motor Factory. The visit was hosted by Lieutenant General Eng. Mokhtar Abdel Latif, Chairman of AOI, with senior officials from both AOI and the Ministry of Housing present, including Dr. Sayed Ismail, Deputy Minister of Housing, and other leaders in the water and sanitation sectors.

During the visit, the capabilities of the Motor Factory were showcased, focusing on the production of pumps used in drinking water and wastewater projects, particularly those required for rural sewage lifting stations under the “Decent Life” presidential initiative. The tour included an overview of the Digital Manufacturing Center, modern systems for quality control, and testing procedures for manufacturing components, highlighting the efficiency in pump production timelines.

Lt. Gen. Eng. Mokhtar Abdel Latif emphasized efforts to localize pump manufacturing, aligning with global quality standards to deepen Egypt’s industrial base. He highlighted the advanced technologies and equipment available in the Digital Manufacturing Center, which aim to meet the needs of housing projects and support Egypt’s 2030 sustainable development vision.

The collaboration between AOI and the Ministry of Housing was praised, particularly in improving water and sanitation services through ongoing and planned projects. Lt. Gen. Abdel Latif stressed AOI’s commitment to timely execution, quality assurance, and providing regular maintenance services to ensure operational efficiency.

Minister Sherif Al-Sherbiny expressed admiration for the technological advancements in pump and motor manufacturing, positioning the facility among the world’s leading specialized factories. He directed all ministry entities to prioritize locally manufactured products with high local content in alignment with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to support local industries and modern technologies.

The visit underscored the strategic partnership between the Ministry of Housing and AOI in supporting national projects, enhancing local manufacturing, and strengthening the “Made in Egypt” brand.
