Engineer Randa El Menshawy, minister of housing, utilities, and urban communities, reviewed the ministry’s rapid response system performance report for June 2026, which highlighted key performance indicators and the system’s efforts in monitoring complaints and reports circulated across social media platforms and digital channels, as well as handling them in coordination with the ministry’s affiliated entities.

Engineer Randa El Menshawy emphasized that strengthening communication with citizens remains one of the Ministry of Housing’s top priorities. She noted that the Rapid Response System represents one of the key pillars for achieving this objective by continuously monitoring content shared across various digital platforms, responding promptly to complaints and distress reports, referring them to the competent authorities, and following up on the implementation of solutions until issues are fully resolved.

She added that this contributes to improving service quality, enhancing operational efficiency, and reinforcing public confidence in the government’s ability to respond swiftly to citizens’ concerns.

The minister explained that the system operates in coordination with all entities affiliated with the ministry, foremost among them the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA), the Social Housing and Mortgage Finance Fund, the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater, and the National Organization for Potable Water and Sanitary Drainage (NOPWASD), ensuring rapid response and immediate handling of various complaints.

Coordination was carried out to complete the remaining infrastructure works, provide temporary electricity to illuminate streets, prepare transformer rooms ahead of meter installation, and maintain continuous communication with residents to keep them informed of implementation progress.

In Badr City, the system monitored several complaints related to sanitation services, prompting intensive cleanup campaigns to remove waste and level internal roads. It also addressed reports of a major water pipeline break in New October City by deploying drinking water tankers, completing repair works, and restoring water service.
