Engineer Randa El Menshawy, minister of housing, utilities, and urban communities, reviewed the progress of a number of housing, service, and development projects across several new cities as part of the ministry’s plan to accelerate implementation rates, assess completion percentages, and overcome any obstacles that could affect project execution, ensuring the delivery of integrated services to citizens and achieving the state’s urban development goals.
Developing Integrated Urban Communities
The minister of housing emphasized that field inspections are one of the ministry’s key operational priorities, stressing the importance of continuing site visits to project locations, adhering to the highest quality standards, completing projects according to approved timelines, and maintaining full coordination between city authorities and executing companies. These efforts align with the political leadership’s directives to expand the development of integrated and sustainable urban communities.
In this context, the minister received a report on the results of field inspections carried out by officials from the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) and city development authorities to monitor project progress. The report included the inspection tour conducted by Engineer Ammar Mandour, Vice President of NUCA for Development and Construction, in Obour City.
Accompanied by Engineer Tamer Gabr, Head of the Obour City Development Authority, along with several officials from the authority and the city administration, the tour included the Obour Hospital project being implemented by the ministry.
The visit reviewed construction progress, finishing works, final equipment installations, and the remaining tasks ahead of the hospital’s full inauguration, in coordination with the relevant authorities. The hospital is considered one of the city’s key service projects and will significantly strengthen healthcare services in Obour City and neighboring communities.
The vice president’s tour also included the “Zilal” luxury housing project, where implementation rates of residential units, interior and exterior finishing works, infrastructure, landscaping, and supporting services were reviewed to ensure that all work complies with approved technical specifications and standards.
The minister also reviewed the efforts of the New October City Development Authority in delivering housing units under the presidential “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative. Engineer Mohamed Abdel Maqsoud, Head of the City Development Authority, confirmed that the authority achieved unprecedented delivery rates during May and June.
He noted that 2,879 housing units have already been delivered, while procedures are underway to hand over an additional 314 units. Field monitoring of the project’s implementation continues to ensure the prompt completion of delivery procedures and the provision of housing units that meet the highest technical standards.
The report also included a field tour by Dr. Mohamed Khalaf Allah, Head of the New Alamein City Development Authority, in the Latin District, where he reviewed project implementation progress and inspected the quality of interior finishing works in residential units. He stressed the importance of maintaining the highest standards of quality and precision throughout all phases of implementation.
In Hadayek, 10th of Ramadan City, the minister reviewed the results of a field inspection conducted by engineer Ahmed Mohamed Abdel Razek, head of the city development authority, along with city officials, covering educational and service projects in the East and Al-Sanabel districts.
The tour included schools, healthcare units, nurseries, and commercial markets, with emphasis placed on completing the remaining works promptly to prepare the facilities for operation, contributing to the provision of integrated services that keep pace with the city’s urban expansion and population growth.
Engineer Randa El Menshawy concluded by emphasizing that the Ministry will continue implementing a comprehensive field monitoring system across all new cities. The system focuses on measuring on-site performance, making prompt decisions to address any implementation challenges, accelerating project completion, bringing projects into service more quickly, and improving the quality of life for citizens across Egypt’s new urban communities.
