Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, along with Major General Engineer Mahmoud Nassar, Head of the Central Housing Authority, discussed the ongoing construction of five hospitals for the Ministry of Health. The Central Housing Authority is overseeing the implementation of these projects in various regions.
Major General Mahmoud Nassar shared that he recently held an extensive video conference with heads of executive bodies involved in the hospital projects, along with central sector and department heads within the Central Housing Authority. The meeting focused on reviewing the execution and financial status of the hospitals, as well as resolving any obstacles to the projects’ progress.
Nassar outlined that the five hospital projects under construction include four new central hospitals and one hospital being expanded and completed. The ongoing hospital projects are as follows:
- Shibin El-Qanater Central Hospital, in Qalyubia Governorate (new construction), with an execution progress of 56%, overseen by the Cairo Metropolitan Reconstruction Executive Body.
- Matoubas Central Hospital, in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate (new construction), with a 48% progress rate, under the supervision of the Central Northern Coast Reconstruction Executive Body.

During the meeting, the executive bodies presented updates on the execution and financial status of the hospitals, along with ongoing efforts to coordinate with relevant authorities to ensure timely completion.
Nassar emphasized the availability of the necessary financial resources for the projects and instructed the implementing companies to expedite their work. He also stressed the importance of processing financial claims promptly so that the companies can receive their payments on time.
He further emphasized the importance of using locally produced materials whenever possible, instead of relying on imported products. The final delivery date for these hospitals to the Ministry of Health is set for June 30, 2025.
