Engineer Randa El-Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, reviewed the current implementation status of infrastructure development works in the industrial zones of New October City, which span a total area of about 11,000 feddans.
These projects are part of broader efforts to improve the industrial investment environment and deliver fully integrated infrastructure that supports national development plans.
El-Menshawy emphasized the need to accelerate work and ensure timely completion in accordance with a clearly defined schedule while maintaining the highest standards of quality and sustainability. She also highlighted the importance of ongoing field monitoring and strict adherence to approved technical specifications.
The minister received a detailed report from Engineer Mohamed Abdel Maqsoud, Head of the New October City Authority, who stated that significant progress has been made in executing the infrastructure projects.
He noted that work is continuing on utility networks and road construction with high levels of quality and efficiency, aligning with industrial development needs and enhancing the city’s preparedness to attract investments.
According to the report, the overall completion rate has reached around 65%, with noticeable advancements across multiple utility sectors. For drinking water networks, pipeline installation and testing are currently in progress, covering a total length of 75 km with varying diameters to meet the needs of factories and investors.
Regarding sewage systems, approximately 85 km of pipelines with different diameters are being implemented, ensuring effective wastewater management within the industrial areas. For irrigation networks, work is ongoing on pipelines extending 55 km, using treated water to irrigate green spaces in line with environmental sustainability objectives.
In terms of road infrastructure, leveling and paving activities are continuing across main and internal roads totaling up to 80 km, improving logistics, facilitating goods transport, and linking industrial zones to major national road networks.
El-Menshawy affirmed that these projects form a fundamental pillar in positioning New October City as a fully integrated industrial and investment hub capable of attracting both domestic and international investments.
She also underscored the ministry’s commitment to offering comprehensive support and incentives to investors, helping to accelerate factory operations and generate meaningful employment opportunities for young people.
She added that the ministry remains committed to executing a comprehensive development strategy focused on enhancing infrastructure efficiency in industrial zones across new cities while fostering a competitive and attractive investment climate in line with the state’s vision for sustainable development and economic growth.
