Minister of Housing Reviews Progress in Alamein and Ras El Hikma Projects
Eng. Sherif El Sherbini, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held an extensive meeting today at the New Alamein City Authority headquarters to review the progress of various projects in the city and surrounding areas. The meeting covered key developments in the city’s tourism villages, including Marina Alamein Tourist Center, Marakia Village, and Marbella Village. The Minister also assessed the ongoing development projects in the New Ras El Hikma City and the land development status in the West Dabaa area, which spans 1,230 acres under the jurisdiction of the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA). The meeting was attended by Eng. Amin Ghoneim, Vice President of NUCA for Urban Development, along with other officials from the authority and the Minister’s technical office.
During the meeting, Eng. Khaled Sorour, Head of the Tourist Villages Authority, provided a detailed briefing on the infrastructure upgrades at Marina Alamein Center. He discussed the ongoing improvements in water and sewage systems, marine works, landscaping, roads, and other critical infrastructure in the tourism villages. Sorour also presented the financial status, including revenues and expenditures, and highlighted the available investment opportunities. The Minister emphasized the importance of ongoing maintenance and development efforts to ensure the sustainability of essential facilities, preserve the architectural character of the area, and enhance the overall visual appeal as the summer season approaches. He also stressed the need for more parking spaces and encouraged the utilization of available land for innovative entertainment projects to attract more visitors.
Minister El Sherbini urged the acceleration of construction efforts and adherence to the timelines for completing the Marina 8 project at Marina Alamein Tourist Center. The project, which overlooks Marina Lake, features various types of villas, twin houses, chalets, and apartment buildings. It also includes infrastructure works, roads, landscaping, and water features such as swimming pools and fountains, covering a total area of 104 acres. The project has been designed with varying elevations to ensure all units have lake views.
Eng. Walid Abdel Rahman Haggagi, Head of the New Ras El Hikma City Authority, presented the ongoing preparations in Ras El Hikma for the launch of various development and investment projects. He also provided updates on the allocation and servicing of alternative lands in the “Shams El Hikma” area, designated for those residing in Ras El Hikma. The alternative area will include residential zones, service areas, commercial and investment activities, as well as a network of main roads.
Eng. Walid Abdelkader, Head of the Second Sector Development Authority for the Northwestern Coast, discussed the progress in developing the 1,230-acre land under NUCA’s jurisdiction in the West Dabaa area. Plans for the area include the creation of a fully serviced urban community to accommodate the residents of West Dabaa, both coastal and inland, with provisions for regional investment zones overlooking the coastal highway.
Concluding the meeting, Eng. Ahmed Ibrahim, Head of the New Alamein City Authority, provided an update on the various projects underway in the city. These include the construction of beach towers, downtown towers, the “Mazarine” compound, the Latin Quarter, the “Sakan Misr” and “Housing for All Egyptians” projects, the Heritage City, and various infrastructure and road projects.
