Minister of Housing Reviews Electrical Supply Status for Drinking Water and Wastewater Stations

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held a meeting on Monday to review the status of the electrical supply for drinking water and wastewater stations in new cities and governorates. The meeting was attended by ministry officials, during which the current situation of electrical supply to drinking water pumping stations and water treatment plants was discussed, along with wastewater pumping stations and treatment plants in new cities.

The review also covered the electrical supply conditions for water stations operated by the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater through its 17 subsidiary companies across the governorates. At the conclusion of the meeting, Minister El-Sherbiny emphasized the importance of achieving optimal operational efficiency for all components of the drinking water and wastewater systems, stressing the need for regular maintenance of all stations and ensuring their operational needs are met.

In this context, the Minister of Housing stressed the necessity of guaranteeing a stable electrical supply for all stations, whether for drinking water or wastewater, in coordination with the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy. He also underlined the importance of having emergency generators available, directing the preparation of a detailed report outlining the electrical supply status of each station, identifying all essential requirements to ensure uninterrupted operation, and specifying each station’s generator needs.
