The review comes as part of the ministry’s commitment to monitoring the quality of services provided to citizens, addressing any obstacles promptly, and ensuring the timely completion of projects in line with approved schedules.

The Minister directed all concerned authorities to accelerate implementation rates, adhere to the established project timelines, promptly address any technical observations before project handover, and fully comply with standard technical specifications, quality standards, and occupational safety and health requirements.

In New Fayoum City, the minister reviewed the progress of housing, agriculture, and development projects through the findings of an inspection tour conducted by Eng. Ammar Mandour, vice chairman of the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) for Development and Construction Affairs, accompanied by sector officials, Eng. Ali Saad, head of the New Fayoum City Development Authority, and city officials.

The tour included follow-up on landscaping, beautification, and development works in several squares and areas of the city, as well as site coordination and the planting of green spaces and trees. It also included an inspection of the sixth phase of the presidential “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative for low-income citizens in the northern area of the First District.

The project consists of 24 residential buildings comprising a total of 576 housing units. Officials were instructed to intensify construction activities, increase implementation rates to complete the project within the scheduled timeframe, maintain the highest quality standards, and ensure the prompt delivery of units to eligible beneficiaries.

The review also emphasized the continuation of campaigns to remove encroachments, waste, and unauthorized storage from roads and main corridors, while taking the necessary legal measures against violations.

In New Sohag City, Eng. Randa El Menshawy reviewed the status of services and development works in the industrial zone and the “Build Your House 2” area through the results of an inspection tour conducted by Eng. Ayman Rashad, Head of the New Sohag City Development Authority, along with city officials.

The inspection covered cleaning, maintenance, and utility services within the industrial zone, with directives to strengthen daily monitoring of the cleaning company’s performance, ensure the regular emptying of waste containers and removal of waste, and take the necessary action against any shortcomings.

Instructions were also issued to complete leveling and preparation works for designated agricultural sites and begin planting these areas to improve the city’s visual appearance and provide additional shaded spaces.

The review also included inspecting street lighting poles and ensuring the safety of the electrical network components, expediting the restoration of roads affected by gas utility works in the Second Family Housing area, and immediately commencing development works within the “Build Your House 2” district.

Additional measures included reopening closed streets for public access, removing encroachments and accumulated waste, and clearing debris from one of the green areas in preparation for its rehabilitation, landscaping, and transformation into a recreational public space serving local residents.

In New Assiut City, the Minister reviewed the continued implementation of tree-planting activities throughout the city as part of the presidential “100 Million Trees” initiative, in coordination with the youth members of the New Assiut Forum.

The initiative covered the Youth Housing area as well as the city entrance from the Technology Zone, with plans to expand the campaign to additional areas in the coming period, contributing to the improvement of the city’s urban landscape.

In New Minya City, Eng. Mohamed El Ezzouni, Head of the New Minya City Development Authority, led a large-scale campaign to recover state-owned land belonging to NUCA in the city’s forest plantation area as part of efforts to protect public land and combat encroachments. The campaign resulted in the recovery of 240 feddans, including 90 feddans within the 5,000-Feddan area and an additional 150 feddans in the same forest plantation zone.

In New Akhmim City, the Minister reviewed the regular operation of the city’s technological service center and efforts to improve the efficiency of government services through a field visit conducted by Eng. Mostafa Hareb, Head of the New Akhmim City Development Authority. The inspection focused on the mechanisms for receiving citizens’ applications, reviewing them, and completing the necessary administrative procedures.

In this context, Eng. Randa El Menshawy stressed the importance of simplifying procedures, reducing service delivery time, completing files promptly in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, and maintaining direct communication with citizens by listening to their opinions and suggestions. She also emphasized the need to study requests quickly and eliminate any obstacles facing applicants in order to enhance service quality and increase customer satisfaction.

In New Qena City, the Minister reviewed the results of an inspection tour conducted by Eng. Yasser Abdallah Ramadan, Head of the New Qena City Development Authority, and city officials at the “Diarna” residential project located in the Clubs Area of the First Residential District. The project includes nine residential buildings of Model (B).

Ongoing works include exterior plastering and facade preparation, as well as interior finishing works, preliminary corridor and room finishes, ceramic tile installation, and the installation of electrical and plumbing infrastructure.

Eng. Randa El Menshawy emphasized the importance of maintaining regular follow-up on the implementation rates of projects underway in Upper Egypt’s new cities, while continuing to upgrade infrastructure networks and public utilities, improve services provided to citizens, and expand landscaping, tree planting, beautification works, and green spaces. She noted that these efforts support integrated and sustainable urban development, enhance quality of life, and provide a better urban environment for residents of Upper Egypt’s new cities.
