On Sunday, February 2, 2025, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held a meeting to follow up on the progress of the Central Business District (CBD) project in the New Administrative Capital. The meeting was attended by officials from the Ministry, the New Urban Communities Authority, the Chinese company “CSCEC,” and representatives of various companies working on the project, including the hotel operator.
El-Sherbiny emphasized the importance of the CBD project, which continues to receive significant attention and regular monitoring. He stressed the need for meticulous attention to all aspects of the project to ensure its completion with the highest quality standards, in line with the approved designs and the set timeline.
The Minister added that the meeting aimed to review the current status of the ongoing works and address all related details. He confirmed that there were no obstacles from the Ministry or its affiliated entities that could prevent the project from being completed on schedule.
The CBD in the New Administrative Capital consists of a series of multi-use towers, including:
- 10 towers with various functions (administrative, office, commercial, and service), covering a total area of 806,000 square meters. These towers range in height from 80 to 175 meters.
- 5 residential towers, containing 1,700 fully-finished housing units, with a total area of 102,000 square meters. These towers range in height from 152 to 200 meters.
- The iconic “Hibiscus Towers” (comprising 4 connected towers) designed for hotel and serviced apartments, as well as general services, recreational services, and commercial spaces. The Hibiscus Towers reach a height of 64 meters.
- The iconic tower, which will serve as the centerpiece of the district.
During the meeting, officials reviewed various details of the project, including the status of work in the area, the scheduled delivery dates, and the finalization of components. They also discussed the timeline for completing the interior finishes and furnishings according to the requirements of the operator, Accor, which manages the Fairmont and Raffles hotel brands.
In this context, El-Sherbiny instructed the officials to regularly follow up with the executing companies to ensure adherence to the project’s timeline and to coordinate closely with the operators.
