Minister of Housing Oversees Services for Flood-Affected Residents in “Zohour 15 May”

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, recently conducted an inspection to ensure the smooth operation of services for residents relocated from the flood-affected “Zaraib May” area to the new “Zohour 15 May” community. This relocation project was executed by the Ministry of Housing, represented by the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) and the 15 May City Authority, in accordance with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

Minister El-Sherbiny emphasized that “Zohour 15 May” is a fully developed, modern community that offers a dignified living environment for those who were previously living in the hazardous “Zaraib May” area, which lacked basic amenities. The new community not only provides safe housing but also includes facilities for the residents to continue their work in waste collection and sorting. The medical center and daycare have been operational, the commercial market stalls have been sold, and the school is ready to welcome students.

The “Zohour 15 May” area spans 67.5 acres, located east of the Ring Road. It includes residential buildings, model livestock pens, collection stations, and storage areas. The community comprises 42 residential buildings with 1,008 units, each covering 90 square meters, as well as 834 model livestock pens, collection stations, a storage area, a school covering 4,000 square meters, a health unit of 1,000 square meters, a daycare center of 500 square meters, and commercial areas totaling 1,750 square meters. Additionally, the area features green spaces and roads, making it a well-rounded, sustainable community for its residents.
