Minister of Housing Orders Removal of Building Violations and Random Obstructions in New Cities

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbini, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, has directed the heads of new city authorities to intensify efforts to remove building violations and random obstructions in the cities of Al-Shorouk, 6th of October, New Obour, and Sadat City. In a press statement, the minister emphasized the importance of monitoring and enforcing the ban on converting residential units or basement spaces into commercial or other non-residential uses to preserve the urban aesthetic.

Engineer Mohamed El-Sayed Abdel-Maksoud, Head of Al-Shorouk City Authority, reported that the Immediate Removal Committee successfully executed decisions to remove unauthorized construction activities and halt ongoing illegal building work on the rooftops of two residential buildings in the third and fourth districts.

Campaign to Remove Market Obstructions

Additionally, Abdel-Maksoud mentioned that a campaign was launched to remove obstructions at the commercial markets in the service center of neighborhood D in the second district, aiming to restore order within the markets. The campaign resulted in six obstruction violation reports and the confiscation of unauthorized items.

Engineer Mohamed Mostafa, Head of the 6th of October City Development Authority, stated that a campaign was conducted to target building violations in the eastern sector, as part of the authority’s plan to maintain the city’s orderly development and ensure adherence to building regulations. The campaign led to the removal of several unauthorized constructions that had been built without legal permits.

Continued Efforts Across the City

Engineer Rady Khalil, Deputy Head of the 6th of October City Authority, stressed that building violations pose a direct threat to sound urban planning and the sustainable development efforts of the city. He urged residents to report any violations that might hinder the city’s development, providing the hotline number 15100 for easy communication.

Dr. Ahmed Ismail, Head of New Obour City Development Authority, announced the launch of a large-scale campaign targeting street vendors and obstructions in front of shops in the Al-Hurriya district. The campaign aimed to improve the city’s appearance and regulate commercial activities by removing all obstacles blocking public access. The crackdown on street vendors’ illegal stalls reflects the authority’s commitment to upholding the law and organizing commercial activities for the benefit of the citizens.

Closure and Sealing of Violating Properties

Engineer Yasser Abdel-Halim, Head of Sadat City Development Authority, reported that several campaigns had been conducted, resulting in the closure and sealing of properties that violated contractual and allocation conditions across the city.
