Minister of Housing: No Egyptian Citizen Will Be Evicted from Old Rent Units

The Minister affirmed that no citizen would be evicted following the approval of the Old Rent Law, stating:
“There will be no eviction of any Egyptian citizen residing in old rent units. The Egyptian state, which implemented the project to eliminate slums and unsafe, unplanned areas, has provided dignified and appropriate alternatives for our people in those areas, and it will never evict anyone.”

He also highlighted that the Egyptian state, which launched the “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative and succeeded in reaching rural areas through the Decent Life initiative, cannot and will not abandon its citizens or expel them from their homes.
