Minister of Housing Monitors Development Projects in New Cities

Engineer Sherif El-Shorbagi, the Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, has been overseeing the development of roads, green spaces, and infrastructure in the new cities of New Damietta, El-Shorouk, New Suez, and New Nubaria.

The Minister emphasized the continuous directives to ministry officials to expedite the completion of ongoing projects across all sectors, including roads, housing, and general infrastructure.

New Damietta City Developments

In this context, Dr. Mohamed Khalaf Allah, Head of the New Damietta City Authority, along with his team, inspected the ongoing enhancement and development of the coastal road, a vital artery for the city’s residents and visitors. They initiated the implementation of the asphalt layer for the road, utilizing modern techniques for rehabilitation and development.

Dr. Khalaf Allah also reviewed the asphalt work and the rehabilitation of roads as part of the renewal process for the sewage networks in the first industrial area of New Damietta. He highlighted that the development includes improvements such as islands, sidewalks, and landscaping to create an integrated model for development in the industrial area while ensuring cleanliness to boost investment opportunities.

El-Shorouk City Improvements

In El-Shorouk, Engineer Mohamed El-Sayed Abdel-Maqsoud, the Head of the Authority, monitored the progress of the asphalt layer installation on the new eastern axis connecting traffic between the Suez and Ismailia entrances (3) and extending into the city’s neighborhoods. He stated that the project aims to address some dilapidated road sections along the axis and to maximize the utility of service and investment plots located along the road.

He noted that work is ongoing on the most deteriorated sector, from the youth intersection to the Ismailia 3 entrance, which includes repairs to the median and sidewalks. The completion of other sections of the road will follow to the Suez 3 entrance. El-Maqsoud also stressed the importance of ensuring smooth traffic flow and necessary detours to minimize disruption.

New Suez City Developments

Engineer Asmaa Makhlouf, Head of the New Suez City Authority, inspected several roads and agricultural areas in the free zone of the first industrial district. This is part of the areas planned for rehabilitation and enhancement, which includes a tree fence established along the western border of the industrial zone to protect it from dust and debris.

Makhlouf emphasized the need for the maintenance company to trim and care for the trees and ensure proper irrigation for green spaces. She also called for the coordination of squares and cleanliness of streets and main entrances, including informational signage at the main entrance of the first industrial zone along the Suez-Sokhna road.

New Nubaria City Initiatives

Engineer Ashraf El-Samaleji, Head of the New Nubaria Authority, is overseeing the planting activities in residential areas and the city entrance. He directed daily monitoring of trees and green spaces, emphasizing cleanliness throughout Nubaria as part of an ambitious plan to enhance green areas and beautify neighborhoods and streets.
