Minister of Housing Meets with CSCEC to Review Progress on Key Projects
Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held a meeting with officials from CSCEC Egypt to review the status of projects underway in the New Administrative Capital and New Alamein City. The meeting was attended by key figures, including Engineer Amin Ghoneim, Vice President of the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) for Development and City Development, accountant Mohamed Ragai, Assistant Vice President of NUCA for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Engineer Amr Khattab, General Manager at the Minister’s Technical Office, as well as representatives from the consulting office and INCOM.
The minister reviewed the timeline prepared by CSCEC for the implementation of the first phase of Alamein Lakes “Crystal Lagoon,” situated amidst the downtown towers of New Alamein City. This phase includes several islands and various recreational and commercial activities to serve the city’s residents and visitors. The project will be surrounded by a tourist walkway and is expected to rival similar global projects. El-Sherbiny emphasized the need to adhere to the specified timeline.
Additionally, the meeting covered the schedules for completing the downtown towers in New Alamein City. This project involves constructing five fully finished residential towers with services, including the iconic tower standing at 250 meters (68 floors) and covering a total area of 465,000 square meters, alongside four towers each at 200 meters (56 floors) covering a total area of 320,000 square meters. These towers will be centered around the Crystal Lagoon. The structural framework of four towers has been completed, with finishing works currently in progress.
Minister El-Sherbiny also monitored the timeline for the preliminary handover of several administrative towers within the Central Business District in the New Administrative Capital. The project includes 20 towers, divided as follows: 10 towers for various uses (administrative, office, commercial, and service), five residential towers, and four connected crescent towers designed for mixed-use purposes (hotel, serviced apartments, general services, entertainment, and commercial). Additionally, the iconic tower, Africa’s tallest tower at around 400 meters, will feature various functions including hotel, commercial, and administrative spaces.
The minister stressed the importance of meeting deadlines and ensuring the quality of work in these large-scale urban development projects.
