As part of the Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities’ commitment to supporting investment and improving service levels in new cities, Engineer Randa El-Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held a meeting with the Chairman and Board Members of the 10th of Ramadan City Investors Association and the city’s Board of Trustees.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Walid Abbas, deputy minister of housing for urban communities; Eng. Ahmed Omran, deputy minister for utilities, and officials from the ministry, the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA), and the 10th of Ramadan City Development Authority.
Discussions focused on a number of issues related to supporting the city’s industrial, investment, and service development while reviewing the key challenges facing investors and residents and exploring mechanisms to address them.
At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Randa El-Menshawy emphasized that 10th of Ramadan City is one of Egypt’s most significant industrial and development hubs, representing a successful model of the country’s new cities that has attracted investments and created employment opportunities.
She noted that the Ministry places great importance on providing all the requirements for sustainable development in the city through the completion of infrastructure, utilities, road networks, and public services, thereby supporting industrial expansion, improving the investment climate, and enhancing residents’ quality of life.
The minister added that the ministry adopts an approach based on continuous partnership and communication with investors and residents, listening to their proposals and working to overcome any obstacles they may face. This comes in line with the directives of the political leadership to provide an attractive investment and service environment and strengthen the role of the private sector as a key partner in achieving economic development.
El-Menshawy further stressed that the Egyptian government has invested heavily over the past years in upgrading infrastructure across new cities, which has directly enhanced the competitiveness of industrial cities, particularly 10th of Ramadan City. She underscored the importance of preserving these achievements and maintaining coordination among all relevant entities to ensure the sustainability of development.
The meeting also reviewed a number of issues of concern to investors, presented by the Investors Association. These included procedures related to the transfer of ownership rights for industrial land plots and warehouses, increasing the permitted rooftop coverage ratio from 25% to 75%, and mechanisms for land allocation and the associated regulatory decisions, as well as providing housing units for workers employed in the city.
For their part, the chairman and board members of the 10th of Ramadan City Investors Association and the city’s board of trustees praised the Ministry of Housing’s efforts in supporting the city and developing its infrastructure.
They emphasized the importance of maintaining close coordination with the Ministry and commended its responsiveness to investors’ concerns and its commitment to removing obstacles affecting investment activities.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Minister Randa El-Menshawy directed that all issues raised be thoroughly examined and instructed that periodic meetings continue with representatives of the Investors Association and the Board of Trustees to monitor the implementation of agreed-upon measures.
She noted that these efforts would contribute to supporting industrial activity, increasing investment rates, improving services provided to residents, and further strengthening 10th of Ramadan City’s position as one of Egypt’s largest industrial and development cities.
