Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, hosted the Moroccan Ambassador to Cairo, Mohamed Ait, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital. The meeting aimed to explore and enhance cooperation between Egypt and Morocco in the field of urban development, with the participation of officials from the Ministry and the New Urban Communities Authority.
At the beginning of the meeting, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny highlighted the deep historical ties between the two countries, affirming President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s keenness to strengthen bonds of cooperation with Arab nations across various fields. He also emphasized Egypt’s support for investment and investors, noting that strong political will has been the driving force behind Egypt’s successes in recent years.

These include the completion of fourth-generation cities and smart cities, in addition to housing projects exceeding one million residential units, as well as water, sanitation, and infrastructure projects that have significantly improved citizens’ living standards.
For his part, the Moroccan Ambassador expressed his pleasure at visiting Egypt and meeting the Minister of Housing, praising Egypt’s pioneering achievements in housing and new city construction, particularly the New Administrative Capital. He also noted Egypt’s pivotal role in the Arab world and expressed his eagerness to advance joint cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, both sides discussed future cooperation opportunities in housing, urban development, and investment. Promising prospects in several regions were reviewed with the aim of strengthening the partnership between Egypt and Morocco.
